Pest control manager Steve Graff: “What we’re seeing is just a lot of spillover”
—Steve Graff, quality assurance manager at Abell Pest Control, telling Metro Morning’s Matt Galloway about a hidden side effect of all the construction at Union Station: rats that had lived in relative peace in the tunnels and dark spaces beneath the enormous transit hub are now spilling over (shudder) into neighbouring parts of the downtown core. The displaced rats are apparently getting into turf wars with other rats over attractive living spaces. What Torontonian hasn’t done unspeakable things to get a decent apartment, though?
OH great… now we’ll have PETA throwing in their 2 cents in for the Transit Debate…
Brampton’s complaining about its coyotes. Coyotes eat rats. Therefore, herd the coyotes onto the GO trains to Union Station, and let them off. Problem solved…
Nah.
Or we could just round up the rats and drop them off in Brampton. This way the coyotes and wolves will have plenty of their natural food supply so they won’t be trolling the neighbourhoods for small dogs..
