Want to learn how to, um, walk? Take Stacey McKenzie’s Walk This Way Workshop in Toronto

In case putting one leg in front of the other and moving in a forward motion is a foreign concept, Stacey McKenzie, former Canadian model and runway coach from Canada’s Next Top Model, is offering a workshop on May 23 that will teach wannabes how to walk. According to her website, the workshop is aimed at models, aspiring or otherwise, and “all-around fabulous divas,” but the four levels of training required to become runway-ready are cryptically outlined online, complete with inflated descriptions better suited to her now-over days as a reality television mentor.
The training levels include an introduction to modeling, in which Stacey will offer the “Real Deal” to get started in the fashion industry (but no mention of what exactly this seemingly very real deal is); a four-day beginners workshop where McKenzie will teach models how to be, um, professional; a three-day advanced workshop that focuses on showroom, high fashion and couture training; and a private training option that includes tutorials on a variety of runway walks.
An accompanying video shows the workshops leaning toward a loving-your-body meme, so perhaps the lesson here is to become more like McKenzie herself: persistent, ingenious and, well, unique.
What is this, tragic clown school? Does she even model anymore?!
I saw her recent print ad for Toronto Fashion Week, she looks great on the runway STILL :) I think the accompanying pic with the above article is rather unkind though…
Ah yes…Ms Stacey McKenzie. Amazing role model and teacher for upcoming models or just diva’s who want to strut their stuff. Great to see you doing your thing!
I love Stacey!!!! She’s such an inspirational model(yes, she still models). Stacey’s story of perserverance and committment should be told around the world!
