Score these hard-to-find, patio-perfect beer glasses

Score these hard-to-find, patio-perfect beer glasses

When Rowley Ocampo, the owner of the store Rolo, got his first shipment of Hopside Down beer glasses two months ago, orders came from Ottawa and Montreal. “All of a sudden, people were calling me—eight went to Ottawa, two to Montreal. I thought, How the frig does Ottawa know about it?” (Ah, the power of the Internet.) Produced by novelty experts Fred and Friends, the glasses are handmade from basaltic glass, which is very strong (though not unbreakable), and have an air pocket between the inner and outer layers, helping to keep the drink cool on hot summer days. Rolo is quickly selling out of its first shipment, but a second is set to arrive at the end of June—before Father’s Day, with any luck.

$26.95 each at Rolo. 24 Bellair St., 416-920-0100, rolostore.com.
