Fresh off its Ryan Gosling mug PR coup, Tim Hortons created a Double Down-like creation on Tuesday featuring a Timbit inside a strawberry vanilla doughnut, which it dubbed The Priestley (a somewhat arcane joke based on Jason Priestley’s walk-on part in How I Met Your Mother). This prompted The National Post’s resident visual pun machine, Steve Murray, to dream up a dozen other specialty doughnuts inspired by Canadian icons like Justin Bieber and the CBC. The Trudonut, left, is described thusly: “Covered in multi-coloured sprinkles, this delicacy LOOKS like a donut, but is in fact a hollow cruller.” See all twelve doughnuts [National Post] »
