Will Charlie Sheen’s Torpedo of Truth live show come to Toronto?
Not long after joining Twitter and setting the Guinness world record for fastest acquisition of 1 million followers, Charlie Sheen proclaimed himself to be “bi-winning” and will soon embark on a one man show entitled Charlie Sheen LIVE: My Violent Torpedo of Truth. The show opens on April 2 in Detroit, and will repeat in Chicago on April 3. Unsurprisingly, both shows sold out in a matter of minutes. Sheen appropriately tweeted, “Fastball; Detroit/Chicago sold out in minutes… Thanks to Sheen’s Cadre..! #WINNING c.”
Is Sheen planning on expanding the tour to include Canada and the rest of the United States? His new publicist, Larry Solters—longtime publicist Stan Rosenfield quit/was fired in February—tells us that there are no plans at the moment to bring My Violent Torpedo of Truth to Canada. Sad for local Sheenophiles, but it’s questionable if the man could even be let into the Great White North, considering his legal history. #Tigerbloodtest, anyone?

If it does come to Toronto, please folks, let’s not be complicit in helping a man self-destruct. I beg everyone to not buy any tickets.
I agree with you Kay, but I kind of see this whole charade as performance art done in bad taste. Joining in wouldn’t really be helping him self-destruct but rather feed his ego – or do those two work together?
The idea that people should only have a voice when not manic or depressed is complicit in the stigmatizing of mental illness. Why don’t we accept that this is who Charlie Sheen (sometimes?) is and be grateful that his PR people stepped aside so the public can share and delight in it? Not all lives are to be lived in boxes, and it is refreshing to hear a wildly articulate and fierce voice from ‘the other side’ of stable.

He wouldn’t qualify to get into Canada for his drug
convictions and criminal record. There is no chance the
rock star from Mars is coming to TO.
I hear he’ll be doing a residency at Jilly’s.
Charlie Sheen to get his own tv show?
They say that Charlie Sheen got a request from ABC to make his own tv show. It’s gonna be about men’s mid-life crisis’.
See the article here: http://tinyurl.com/4cgkxcc
If Sheen gets his own mid life crisis show, he’s got some stiff – Viagra assisted? – competition from that other sex and drugs addicted man about lalaland, otherwise known as David Duchovny. Californication is purportedly a reflection of DD’s real life hardcore debauchery, yet curiously, he just carries on, carrying on unscathed – unless you count losing Tea Leoni and their kids. Fifteen minutes of his show makes me want to take a shower or three but its lauded as high brow, HBO entertainment.
Hypocrisy, thy name is Hollywood.
@birkingurl – Duchovny is a quasi-vegetarian who works out religiously to maintain that 6-pack he sports (at age 50, btw) on Californication. He may have been treated for sex addiction in the past, but he’s very health-conscious and actually not into drugs or alcohol. He’s also still married to Leoni, so he’s suffered no loss there. And for the record, his show airs on Showtime. If you’re going to slam the man, at least get your facts straight!
Charlie just tweeted that he added a bunch of new dates and Toronto is one of them – on April 14th at Massey Hall. We’re not the only Canadian destination as he has one in Vancouver as well.
Only the crack heads and junkies want to see this SHOW..Canada,s pride is lowering itself to allow this ..
