Tradesies: Shania Twain to marry the ex-husband of the woman who broke up her first marriage

CanCon country rocker Shania Twain is getting married again, and this time it’s to Swiss rich guy Frederic Thiebaud. Two years ago, the Timmins native endured an unexpected divorce after her husband, producer Mutt Lange, abruptly left her after 14 years of marriage for close friend Marie-Anne Thiebaud, who had been the housekeeper of Twain’s 46-room Swiss château. It’s no coincidence that Frederic is the ex-husband of Marie-Anne. It seems that the two jilted lovers found solace in each other’s company and love bloomed.

Now, as all good celebrities do, Twain is gushing about her new-found amour on her blog:

I believe in the right to be loved and the blessing of being able to love in return. Talking about love, I am excited to share some personal news with you; I’m in love! Frederic Nicolas Thiebaud has been a true gift to me as a compassionate, understanding friend and over time, an amazing love has blossomed from this precious friendship. Fred and I are happy to announce, our ENGAGEMENT!

Thiebaud apparently hand-picked a ring worth around $100,000 and, on a picnic in the Swiss Alps, wrote the stunningly original phrase “I love you” in the snow, which Shania dutifully recorded and posted on her Web site. After all, it isn’t love if it doesn’t crack at least 10,000 hits on YouTube.
