Spin Report: Waiting for Radler

Last week’s brief controversy about who paid how much for what in the famous Bora-Bora jaunt failed to lift the trial from the legal mud in which it wallows. The trial has grown so boring that CBC radio updates simply state that Black is there because of non-compete payments and leave it at that.

So we are left with more gossip, more “how do they look?”, more glam photos in Hello! of Alana, with her “runway good looks and trendy fringed hairstyle.” Does it help Conrad’s case to have her steal some of his spotlight? When celebrity is the main currency of most of the heavily consumed media in North America, it can’t hurt to have a daughter on the way to becoming one.

This absence of shock and awe heightens anticipation for the appearance of the traitorous Radler. We know who he is, but does he pack the smoking gun the media has been waiting for? We’ll see. Certainly Canadian media outlets that have invested heavily in their Chicago coverage hope so.
