Rob Ford now drives an Escalade
Today, in not-really-news, Rob Ford has a spiffy new ride—a black Cadillac Escalade to replace his aging, light brown van. But the origin story of the mayor’s new wheels is nearly as shaky as his old Chevy. The Toronto Star reported it was a (very expensive) gift from brothers Doug and Randy Ford, which Rob reluctantly accepted, but the Toronto Sun quoted the mayor saying, “I saved a lot of money for this.” So, Mayor Ford, was it a gift or a purchase? And, most importantly, does it have a good sound system?

Welcome to the 1%!
He cannot even avoid lying about this. He is truly a piece of work.
Unless he spent city money on it, why should we care? Boring.
Though it sounds like an expensive car, his two brothers paid only around $50,000 each for it. No biggie. People know that workers, unions and the unemployed all have to stretch their budgets and learn to live with less, but why should the mayor set an example? He can afford to live large, it would be dishonest to NOT buy a NON luxury vehicle!
The Escalade: One of the biggest douche-mobiles of all time. A fitting ride for our mayor.
Guy gets a new car and everyone is angry… Get a grip, poliicians have money. Do you think ( pick a Toronto councillor ) hops on her E Bike?
He didn’t steal the money or the car. What’s the big deal. Let him enjoy his car. The mayor should have a nice ride if he wants one.
So, is this a gift or a corporate donation?
Can anyone give the Mayor of Toronto a $100k man-car?
Isn’t there rules against the mayor accepting gifts from people?
Where did the money come from for the Ford-mobile?
Who’s taxes is this donation showing up on??
I don’t care if it’s family, if it’s a gift from a Family business … is that allowed??
There’s a lot of questions to ask of this Donation/Gift to the Mayor of Canada’s city.
I want to see the paper trail.
