Quoted: Mike Layton might have a freak-out

If they save leaf collection instead of a battered women’s shelter, I will have a freak-out.

That’s Councillor Mike Layton, speaking yesterday about the proposed 2012 budget and the possible closure of Bellwoods House, a women’s shelter that may soon be shoehorned to fit Mayor Rob Ford’s ever-broadening definition of gravy. While Layton works to save the shelter, his colleagues are crusading for other crucial services, like, um, mechanical leaf collection.
