—Ward 20 councillor Adam Vaughan, who resigned his seat on Tuesday to run as the Liberal candidate in the Trinity-Spadina federal by-election, leaving city hall reporters with one last acerbic quote to print. Vaughan has been one of Rob Ford’s most vocal opponents over the past four years. Does his past-tense phrasing here mean he thinks the mayor now has no chance of winning re-election? He wouldn’t be the only one.
