Councillor Peter Milczyn offers something that sounds (shockingly) like a vision

A report commissioned by Rob Ford supporter Peter Milczyn has some recommendations for making Toronto a better place to live that go beyond simply cutting taxes and laying off staffers (no, really!). In fact, the report focuses on ambitious projects, like car-free streets, special design districts and a bold new city slogan (Milczyn offered “the best big city to raise a family,” which is terribly lame, but we’ll give him a pass this time). In other words, it’s all about building a good city, something that can’t be done simply by cancelling unpopular taxes. Sure, Ford’s inner circle may balk at the ideas, but we’re just happy some folks at city hall still want to talk about something that could be called a vision.
