The A.V. Club Toronto is shutting down

Torontoist is reporting that the Toronto-centric edition of the A.V. Club, the Onion’s arts and culture publication, will shut down next week, only 10 months after its launch. Publishing company TorStar, which owns the local rights for the publication (as well as the Toronto Star and the Grid), sent out a staff memo today confirming the closure and citing declining ad revenues as its main driver. The last print issue goes out next Thursday, and the Onion will also no longer be available in Toronto. The last updates to the A.V. Club Toronto website will go up the next day. [Torontoist]
