Introducing: the Toronto Life Best Restaurants app
The Dish is very pleased to announce the launch of Toronto Life’s Best Restaurants app for the iPhone and iPad. Easy to use and frequently updated, the app presents informed, opinionated reviews of Toronto’s top 400 restaurants, as selected by our team of critics (we’ve been using the app in-house for months, and it’s quickly become indispensable). You can search according to neighbourhood, star rating, price range and cuisine, and you can set the app to provide recommendations based on the criteria that are most important to you (a patio, for example). Using your iPhone’s GPS, this app will also tell you which Toronto Life–recommended restaurants are close by. Click here to find out how you can get it now »
I just assumed it was free. Well played.
Sounds great. Android version please!
So when’s the Android version coming out?

Why would I pay for the app when I could just access the website from my smartphone and search the reviews for free?
While the idea of charging for restaurant reviews is a challenge as cyber space is littered with such the effort to launch the app for the TO diner and visitor is commendable. Let the publication know what you want from the app and they can iterate increased usability and value. Imagine being dt at 2pm with free time, pop open the app and it tells you all the free wine tastings going on around you. You pick and post to fb “off to the Argintine Consulate to quaff Malbec.” If their developers aren’t making use of all features of mobile tech they need to visit us out here in Vancouver.
