These booties from Brazilian label Melissa are guaranteed to be this season’s go-to shoe. The perfect balance of form and function, flocked plastic gives the appearance of lush velvet but acts like last season’s Hunter rain boots, protecting feet from rain, snow and slush. The seamless construction is high style, and the scuff-resistant material is both pretty and practical. And they’re 100 per cent recyclable. Talk about a smart investment.

FarmgirlFashion, what colour are your Hunters? I would love to get a pair, but still caught up between black, green or dark blue. Just curious! Thanks :-)
Savvy Shopper: If you are in, or are in any way connected to, the British cavalry your Hunters will be green. I think the navy are also nice, but black would be just too ‘common’. (Most wellies in the UK are black.)
Personally I like the brown ones.
Thanks S.C.D. I agree, the navy are really nice! My only concern is looking too covered in blue if I’m wearing dark jeans with the navy blue wellies. Also, I was in SOHO, NYC recently and noticed the Graphite Grey Hunters were quite popular on the street. I’m almost ready to buy a pair…thanks for helping me narrow down my options. Btw, these boots look really cute and warm when worn with the fleece lining (looks like a sock and folds over the top of the boot). I want to buy that too.
