We still have to work, because John Fluevog Day isn’t a real holiday
Evidently Tartan Day wasn’t enough to satisfy Toronto’s unproven need for holidays that don’t include days off, because John Fluevog has announced John Fluevog Day (June 15 May 15), whereby Toronto shoe enthusiasts can visit the Queen Street West store to acquire free teal laces (evidently a tradition that Fluevog began after the first Fluevog Day 40 years ago), buttons and discounts on some of his shoes. Sure, this is another gimmick in a long list of gimmicks devised by people and companies looking to generate brand awareness, but this time there will be barbershop quartets and yo-yo enthusiasts. We think 40 years in business is quite impressive, so we’re certain there are some Fluevog diehards excited for the opportunity to celebrate—but in the meantime, tomorrow is The Goods Day. See, we can do it too.
