Sears cuts prices on 5,000 items—is that all it takes to out-manoeuvre Target?
While local shoppers drool over the prospect of cheap Jason Wu and temporary mini-boutiques, we imagine Target’s impending arrival is rather less thrilling for Canadian retailers. For their part, Sears Canada has slashed the regular prices on more than 5,000 products to attract bargain-seeking consumers ahead of Target’s arrival. While we’re glad to see new CEO Calvin McDonald taking charge of the struggling department store, the deals outlined in Sears’ press release are a bit ho-hum. Dockers pants? Warners bras? Craftsman drill driver kits? Sorry, Calvin, unless you’re planning some hot designer collaborations (and Jay Manuel does not cut it), Target’s going to win.
I can’t wait for Target. I haven’t shopped at Sears
in years because of their lousy customer service!
I was in Target in December at Christmas and most of their stuff you could get at Zellers. And fyi? Target charged more!
GUESS WHAT …I AM NOT GOING TO TARGET ,,OR WAL-CHINA -MART.SUPPORTING ANY OTHER CANADIAN CHAIN STORES ,,EVEN IF THE PRICE IS MORE …
