Lucian Matis hits it big in the metropolis of Saskatoon
We Torontonians love our own Lucian Matis, but we recognize that our little hamlet can’t hold a rising star forever: we teared up a bit when we learned the designer is showcasing his first ever boutique collection exclusively in Saskatoon. All jokes aside, we are definitely proud that he’s moving on to bigger and better things, like giving Paramount Boutique the honour of hosting his fall/winter 2011–12 collection, arranged in three themes: the Boyfriend, the Romantic and the Safari (we’ll always treasure his 2009 line, the Circus). The lucky shop threw an ultra-chic champagne and cupcake party today to celebrate—we’d throw our own hoedown should our wayward son come home, but it’s rare for a country boy to return once he’s tasted the big city.

I just receive the press release as well and what they say is that Lucian Matis will have the merchandise in Saskatoon only at the Paramount Boutique. I carry his gorgeous collection in my boutique and I must say it is EXQUISITE!
Matis by Lucian Matis is a great collection for our times!

The wording of that article is ambiguous. It implies to me that the boutique is the only one *in Saskatoon* to carry the new line, not that the boutique line is launching exclusively *in* Saskatoon.
Of course, clarifying this might entail 2 minutes of actual journalism. Much better to publish some pointless bitchery, hey?
If you’re going to be insulting and rude, you ought also to:
1. Actually be witty.
2. Make sure your facts are correct.
Witty and correct? Not exactly the TL motto.
Um, the way this was written was more than a little obnoxious. Why not spend a line explaining why Saskatoon’s hosting the collection in place of one being glib about it not being in TO? I mean, you realize why the rest of the country hates us, right?
