House of the Week: $2 million for a Yonge and Eglinton home with an impressive master bedroom
The place: A four-bedroom home with a new, two-storey rear addition.
The history: Two years ago, the owners began what turned out to be $450,000 in renovations. They knocked out most of the main-floor walls to create an open living space, and extended the rear of the house, adding square footage that they used for a new kitchen on the main floor, and a new master bedroom and en suite bathroom on the second floor.
Big selling point: The location is hard to beat, especially for families: it backs onto Oriole Park and the Beltline Trail, and it’s near Upper Canada College and Forest Hill Public School. And it’s only three blocks from the Davisville subway station.
Possible deal breaker: The huge basement is unfinished, which means 1,200 square feet of relatively unused space. It’s already roughed-in for another bathroom, bar, and kitchen, though. (In the meantime? Plenty of storage space.)
