House of the Week: $3.7 million for a Forest Hill family home with a tricked-out backyard
Address: 43 Glenayr Road
Neighbourhood: Forest Hill South
Agent: Marianne Miles, Forest Hill Real Estate Inc., Brokerage
The Place: A five-bedroom family home with a large backyard pool located near two top private schools and Forest Hill Village.
Bragging Rights: With a wet bar, a butler’s pantry, marble counters and a chandelier, that is one classy kitchen.
Big Selling Point: The interior decorator who owns the home gutted it in 2011, but wisely kept the original façade so that it would continue to mesh with the style of the neighbourhood.
Possible Deal Breaker: The tile flooring spelling out “boys” and “girls” in the kids’ bathrooms is adorable—unless your children are all the same sex.
By the Numbers:
• $13,123 in property taxes (estimated)
• 4,320 square feet of living space
• 2,145-square-foot finished basement
• 6 bathrooms
• 5 bedrooms
• 4 skylights
• 3 storeys
• 2 wood burning fireplaces
• 1 kidney-shaped pool

The nanny suite at least deserves a bed frame or at least a union to fight for a bed frame.
Looks like everything was being tricked out when Google Street view was driving around.
The Good – location
The Bad – lack of character or architectural bling that honors the heritage of Forest Hill
The Ugly – get serious….water radiators for heating? I would wonder about the rest of the mechanics of the house………
The exterior and the back yard of the house are very nice. The interior is very cold and uninviting, rather IKEA like. The best part of the house is the car in the driveway.
