Address: 111 St. Clair Avenue West, Unit 914
Neighbourhood: Yonge-St. Clair
Agent: Richard Himelfarb, Forest Hill Real Estate Inc., Brokerage
Price: $725,900
The Place: A light-filled new loft in a solid old office tower.
The History: When Imperial Oil commissioned its headquarters in 1957, the Cold War was at its coldest. The era’s constant bomb anxiety may be why this entire 22-storey office tower is framed with extra-sturdy welded steel. The company also spared no expense on the limestone-clad exterior and marble-lined lobby, which is now being refurbished. Inside the unit, a 16-foot wall of windows is all that remains of the old cafeteria that once took up the ninth floor.
Big Selling Point: The building has fitness amenities fit for an executive, including a gym, a pool, a yoga room, virtual golf and squash courts.
Possible Deal Breaker: Parking is $45,000 extra. But, with an LCBO and a Longo’s on the first floor and St. Clair subway station just down the street, a car is optional, anyway.
By The Numbers:
• $725,900
• 955 square feet
• 16-foot ceilings
• 1.5 bathrooms
• 1 bedroom
• 1 den
• 0 parking

319380 The bedroom is relatively large, with more than enough room for a desk and chair. https://torontolife.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/toronto-condo-of-the-week-111-st-clair-avenue-west-6-150x150.jpg https://torontolife.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/toronto-condo-of-the-week-111-st-clair-avenue-west-6.jpg https://torontolife.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/toronto-condo-of-the-week-111-st-clair-avenue-west-6.jpg 1200 800 [] https://torontolife.com/real-estate/condo-of-the-week-111-st-clair-avenue-west/slide/toronto-condo-of-the-week-111-st-clair-avenue-west-6/ toronto-condo-of-the-week-111-st-clair-avenue-west-6 0 0
319381 Here's the view over the railing. Obviously, this is not an apartment for small kids or adventurous pets. https://torontolife.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/toronto-condo-of-the-week-111-st-clair-avenue-west-7-150x150.jpg https://torontolife.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/toronto-condo-of-the-week-111-st-clair-avenue-west-7.jpg https://torontolife.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/toronto-condo-of-the-week-111-st-clair-avenue-west-7.jpg 1200 800 [] https://torontolife.com/real-estate/condo-of-the-week-111-st-clair-avenue-west/slide/toronto-condo-of-the-week-111-st-clair-avenue-west-7/ toronto-condo-of-the-week-111-st-clair-avenue-west-7 0 0
319382 The master bedroom's en suite bathroom isn't that fancy, but it gets the job done. https://torontolife.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/toronto-condo-of-the-week-111-st-clair-avenue-west-8-150x150.jpg https://torontolife.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/toronto-condo-of-the-week-111-st-clair-avenue-west-8.jpg https://torontolife.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/toronto-condo-of-the-week-111-st-clair-avenue-west-8.jpg 1200 800 [] https://torontolife.com/real-estate/condo-of-the-week-111-st-clair-avenue-west/slide/toronto-condo-of-the-week-111-st-clair-avenue-west-8/ toronto-condo-of-the-week-111-st-clair-avenue-west-8 0 0
Aren’t they going to build another condo right in front of the big window?
This building turned out to be such a disappointment
Wait…an LCBO is FINALLY coming to Yonge and St. Clair? Amazing! It boggles my mind that the area doesn’t have an LCBO or Beer Store, only a crappy small Wine Rack in the Sobey’s.
The other condo is going beside it! Townhomes will be going up infront of it but thankfully not obstructing the incredible south view!

Seriously, the Summerhill stores are just a couple of blocks away. Then you have one just up from Davisville. If those are too far from you, you need to address an issue.
Use Uber code UBERTORONTOFREERIDE to get $20 off your first ride. Just download the Uber app and enter the code. Valid anywhere in Canada!
It’s not about having an issue – in the dead of winter with no car, those are very inconvenient locations. Neither of those locations are even close to a couple of blocks away from me and it will be nice to not have to walk 30 minutes each way in the cold.
Inconvenient locations? They’re right next to subway stops on a major thoroughfare. The Summerhill store is a 12 mintue walk from Yonge & St. Clair, Davisville might be a bit more but admittedly is uphill. If those two locations still don’t meet your unwillingness to walk then try a dial-a-bottle service but don’t complain that you don’t have options. For less than $6 you could take a Car-to-Go both ways.
You have options, you’re hardly hard done by.
What is your problem? I don’t live right at the corner of Yonge and St. Clair so no, it’s not a 12 minute walk and paying $6 to travel one subway stop or rent a car is not ideal. The bigger question is why do you care so much that I am happy an LCBO is opening in my neighbourhood? It’s so bizarre.
I also live at Yonge & St. Clair so I’m familure with how long it takes to get to the Summerhill store. That said, you’re right, it’s none of my business.
You can also get nice Ontario wines right next to Bruno’s.
SNAP OUT OF IT, YOU TWO!!! This is the real estate section, not the bitch section!!
actually, all the south east facing views will be completely obstructed by a rental tower in the back. Unfortunate for those who bought a south facing view…guess those owner can drinks their sorrows away at the LCBO!
