The Beaconsfield location of this wholesome specialty food shop is roomier than the Roncesvalles storefront. Lorraine Hawley’s homestyle desserts include chocolate buttercream cakes topped with edible flowers, peanut butter fudge sandwich cookies and key lime pie. A variety of olive boules, multigrain baguettes and spelt, rye and sourdough loaves are delivered daily from the original bakery. The new spot is younger and hipper, with high-top tables and science-lab stools. Lunchtime sandwiches sell out fast.
