Death Cab for Cutie Frontman Ben Gibbard may be best known to the gossip rag–reading world as Zooey Deschanel’s ex, but to the faithful he’s the wry yet vulnerable voice of Death Cab. Codes and Keys, their most recent album, marks a shift away from heart-on-sleeve guitar pop to almost goth-like atmospherics.
