Toronto‘s ‘Licious fests have become increasingly credible in the last few years, with flashier names in the restaurant pool and better deals on the table. Yesterday, Toronto Public Events released details for Winterlicious 2014, which runs from January 31 to February 13. This year’s lineup includes over 200 restaurants (up from last year’s 193) and the number of legitimate hotspots is impressive. Destination restaurants Canoe, Auberge du Pommier and Splendido, which were among the 2013 standouts, are joined by Café Boulud at the Four Seasons, Susur Lee’s Bent on Dundas West and two-thirds of the Momofuku triplex: Daishō, where a $45 dinner menu features duck buns and beef shoulder, and Noodle Bar, which is offering enticingly cheap $15 lunches and $25 dinners. Reservations for the prix fixe festival don’t open until January 16, but eager foodies can sign up for wine tastings, gnocchi-rolling classes and other special Winterlicious events starting today.
