Sweet Scoops: 22 of the city’s top ice cream cones
It’s official: the only way to beat the heat is to go on a strict ice cream diet. And luckily, the city’s parlours and pop-ups are hitting peak creativity, rolling out fresh and wacky flavours. Here, your bucket list for the summer of 2015
Poor research. Ed’s Real Scoop isn’t on here. Toronto Life has to be willing to go West of Parliament. This is lazy food journalism.
I completely agree that Toronto Life only researches the west end but Ed’s Real Scoop is on this list. Number 21.
Oh no! Somehow overlooked that one. I do apologize for the comment in this instance then. In general, however, this publication is very West End-centric, which is weird because real foodies know a lot of the best stuff is in The East End. Queen East has great treats! It boasts such places as Moo Milk Bar, Rashers, Prohibition, Aft, Goods and Provisions, Tori’s BakeShop (vegan heaven), and so much more. It’s time to get on the East End bandwagon, guys. It’s where the future lies.
Hawt ice cream
West is best!
I wanna try Lemony lemon at Grinning Face on Parliament. I’m not a big fan of typical gelato, but made with coconut milk and fresh fruit sounds too yummy.
Search the archives. They’ve written about literally every single place you mentioned here. There’s this notion in the comments here that Toronto Life has a west end bias — and it is true to a certain extent — but when interesting stuff opens in the east, they cover it.

Great list, my favorite is Avocado Lime from Dessert Lady.
Anyone try Avocado Lime or Banoffee? I’m reeeeally intrigued. So glad to see some of Toronto’s best ice cream shops on this list, so much to choose from!
Ahh I was wondering about that one! Is it more avocado or more lime? I need to pop by and try it.
The lemon cookie crumble gelato at Touti Gelati on Queens Quay is amazing. :)
East is even better, because the westies only go where Toronto Life tells them to.
You should definitely try, it’s so refreshing.
