Recipe: a classic manhattan with a citrusy twist from the Park Hyatt Roof Lounge
By Joe Gomes
Park Hyatt Roof Lounge
PREP TIME: 1 minutes
BLOOD ORANGE MANHATTAN
2 oz Knob Creek bourbon
½ oz sweet vermouth (Antica Formula is best but it’s hard to find, so Martini brand will do)
1 oz blood orange juice
A couple dashes of orange bitters
1. Rub the orange twist around the rim of a coupe.
2. Pour the rest of the ingredients into the glass and stir for 20 seconds over ice.
3. Drop in the twist to finish.
BYOB (972 Queen St. W., 416-858-2932) carries Bittermens’ excellent orange cream citrate. It’s $23 a bottle, but you only need a few drops per drink, so it’ll last until the apocalypse.
