Introducing: Petite and Sweet, a new Summerhill sweet shop and event planning boutique
Sweets counter at Petite and Sweet
What do you get when you put two high-end event planners and a cake decorator together? Petite and Sweet , a new Summerhill boutique specializing in luxe events, with a shop that showcases all their offerings, like specialty desserts, confectionery, flowers, gifts and special occasion accessories. Petite and Sweet is the spawn of two companies: Madison Eight Event Laboratories , corporate event planners, and SweetFix , which provides dessert tables for events, parties, and business meetings. At the centre of both companies is Elle Daftarian , who brought together her business partners, Casper Hydar of Madison Eight and Yolanda Gampp of SweetFix, to create the new store.
In the shop, customers can get a taste of what both constituent companies have to offer. Taking notes from Ladurée in Paris and Chanel’s white-with-black-trim motif, the boutique has a light, contemporary touch. Giant flower arrangements, crystal chandeliers, decorated tiered cakes and two white-buttoned winged chairs line the store. Special event staples like cake stands, silk flower arrangements, cookbooks, ornamental pieces, gift-wrapping and invites are also on display.
At the front of the shop is a contemporary version of a candy shop offering chocolate bars (wrapped in beautiful handmade Japanese paper), gumballs, specialty M+M’s and more. At the back you’ll find “fancy Oreos” ($2.95), dipped marshmallows ($2.75), French macarons ($2.75) and cupcakes ($3.25), as well as croissants and cookies. Italian Hausbrandt coffee and French Fauchon tea are offered, and an outdoor patio is on the way.

Petite & Sweet, 420 Summerhill Ave., 647-348-7700, petiteandsweet.ca .
I want to work here. I have a marketing degree. Where can I send my resume?
I’m dead serious.
amazinggg! its like a fairy tale!! love it
I was just in there today… it’s to die for!
Loved it!!!
it is a cute store, although i would recommend some seating and more variety of baked goods.
Unfortunately, from the pictures, it does look like it lacks seating, but, the article did say a patio is on its way. We need more places where we can sit, chat, and pass some time, while having nice treats, in Toronto.
I was just in here the other day, in my opinion they are lacking in baked goods and are selling generic overpriced chocolates wrapped in cellophane. After we bought our cupcakes, we had to leave as there was no place to sit.
went in and grabbed a beautiful bouquet of flowers, some candles and a dozen macaroons to take to a dinner party…great concept having a lifestyle boutique where you can get a little bit of everything!:)
I Love this shop they have unique iteams that you cant find anywhere in the city! I did purchase a chocolate bar and I was told that it was a milk chocolate Aero Bar wrapped in Japanese paper I still bought it, it was soooooooo beautifully wrapped…… Thank you Derek for all your help amazing service. will definitly go back.
i tried sea salt macaroons they were to die for!!! lovely store, cant wait to go back for more goodies!
i absolutely love the custom oreos…theyre almost too beautiful to eat! are they airbrushed?
I was in there yesterday and it is so pretty! I had a latte and an oreo and both were great. I get the seating comments but I never got the impression that it was a cafe. They told me they were event planners and the store was more of a showcase. The chiogami papers on the Aero bars are so beautiful!
overpriced oreos in japanese papers? why not go to Summerhill Market right next door and get real homebaked cookies that are too die for?
I finally got the chance to go in here today. I love the styling. Sorry wishbone, but I thought the oreos were gorgeous. Sometimes- it is about looks. Who doesn’t like an oreo anyway? They have some really nice coffee table books too.
sorry Laura – “sometimes it is about looks” – that’s rather superficial, i’d take a home baked cookie made with love over a factory produced sugar blob any day! i’ll even put that cookie on a crystal plate for you…
I’m a very small baker living in High River Alberta with a dream to open a shop just like Petite & Sweet. I saw the photos and nearly fell over!! There are so many things I want to learn and wonder how you find things out, like where to get massive amounts of Candy, your papers, packaging I have so many questions but am unsure if you’d be willing to share. I work in Calgary as a Dental Assistant but dream of Opening, “SugarLips Lolliecakes & Couture Treats”!! Your show excites me and what you do makes my own dreams soar!! Love it:)<3
I would love to work here. I have worked in a bakery for almost 6 years as a cake decorator and I also made petite pastries. Please let me know how I can get the opportunity to work here. You guys are amazing!
