The Dish Power Rankings: Models and Macarons Edition

In this week’s roundup: Models have dance-offs, and the city goes mad for macarons.

1. Lee
Models and other style-setters let loose with cocktail-fueled dance-offs at the annual Joe Fresh/Pink Tartan Fashion Week after-party at Lee.

2. Nadège
By 3 p.m. on Macaron Day, Nadège had already sold out of five macaron flavours: camembert, champagne, bacon-maple, whiskey and earl gray. The patisserie ultimately raised almost $6,500 for SickKids Hospital.

3. Bar Buca
Notoriously persnickety Brit food critic Giles Coren took a time-out from palling around with Rob Ford to gush over Buca Jr.’s “tripe and quail egg thing.”

4. The Chase
Weekend tables are fully booked after 6 p.m. at The Chase, which is still basking in the glow of Toronto Life’s Best New Restaurant title.

5. Bar Isabel
“Evvvvery boooddyyy” is invited to Isabel’s one-year anniversary party on Saturday, which starts at midnight. Based on the unflagging online devotion, that could be a whole lot of people.

6. Actinolite
One thing is for sure: Toronto chefs really, really like Actinolite. So do we. (They have a reptile-egg incubator! In the kitchen!)

7. The Carbon Bar
Still adored on Twitter. (And Yelp.)

8. Côte de Boeuf
Bad news for Toronto Throners: Côte de Boeuf’s Westeros-themed medieval feast is sold out. You’ll just have to prepare your own posset.

9. Prohibition
East-siders were spotted lining up around the block last weekend to get into the Leslieville gastropub. This might’ve been the draw.

10. Reposado
Now’s Sarah Parniak credits Reposado with rescuing tequila from its reputation as the stuff that gets “slurped from somebody’s cleavage.”

Honourable Mentions: Country-western bar Boots ‘n’ Bourbon was also sporting a mighty long line last Saturday, and Fonda Lola unveiled a new delivery method: the taco bike.
