The food: Pan-Asian, particularly Japanese, Thai, Chinese and Vietnamese cuisine. Yang’s sushi list includes house specialties like the Bazara Roll ($14), made with smoked salmon, avocado, cucumber, seaweed, asparagus and black rice instead of the usual white. The Vietnamese menu includes soft shell crab ($20), which is served with yellow curry and rice.

The place: The snug space, formerly home to waffle house Goed Eten, is done up in a more refined style with navy blue floral accents, cloth napkins and an eye-catching chandelier.
