Yonge and Eglinton gets a new Parisian café and food boutique

Douce FranceDouce France is the latest in a string of upmarket cafés and bakeries to open north of Bloor, joining confectionaries The Cupcake Shoppe, Bakes & Goods and La Boheme, and Coco Rogue,* and new indie coffeehouses Bulldog Coffee* and de Mello Palheta. The shop prizes authenticity over locavorism, bringing in French specialty goods, like madeleines from the Pyrenees and rose biscuits from Champagne, and displaying them around the store on antique dressers. It also imports hot chocolate from the famed Angelina tearoom in Paris and serves it alongside ramekins of fresh whipped cream.
