What it is: Murale and celeb hairstylist Sally Hershberger teamed up for a gifting suite at the Richmond, where both important and sort-of important people can get their hair styled by Hershberger’s team, have their nails done by local favourite Tips Nail Bar and Spa or have their makeup applied by one of Smashbox’s artists. Hershberger herself was on deck to dispense red carpet hair advice, offering nuggets like, “Keep it simple so it lasts the night” and “Don’t make it too ‘sorority.’” Over in the Smashbox makeup chair, pro lead artist Lori Taylor advised, “Don’t be shy on the red carpet, but don’t wear every single trend at one time.”

Who goes: We spotted beauty editors and writers on our visit—the space is mainly geared at media types who want to look ready for evening events. Meanwhile, a scion of cosmetics royalty, Davis Factor—the great-grandson of Max Factor and senior vice-president of global creative for Smashbox—stopped by today.

What they get: The services of a celeb-worthy glam squad to keep a girl presentable should she happen find herself standing next to Jon Hamm; popular looks include Blake Lively–esque blowouts or smoky eyes to seduce Ryan Gosling. Guests also get a gift bag full of products including a T3 compact flat iron, Sally Hershberger frizz treatment, Smashbox cosmetics and a bottle of the Hot Pink edition of Marc Jacobs’ Daisy fragrance. Lia Sophia jewellery also has a counter featuring their “Red Carpet Collection” of sparkly jewels; visitors can borrow a few pieces to take to the red carpet.
