Jon Stewart may deserve an honorary Canadian citizenship, if only for his gracious behaviour at last night’s Grey Goose Soho House party for his directorial debut Rosewater. When we apologized for accidentally bumping into the star as he worked his way back to his table, he responded with his own contrite “sorry.” (If there’s anything more Canadian than apologizing after someone else brushes past you, we’re pretty sure the PR department at Tim Hortons would like to hear about it.) Outside the venue, we saw male ingenue Miles Teller stroll by on Simcoe followed by a trail of swooning girls beseeching him for autographs and pictures. Back indoors, Stewart was more extroverted than other Grey Goose Soho House celebs, making rounds among the guests and even consenting to pose for someone’s Instagram feed before returning to chat with Rosewater star Gael García Bernal. Later, Stewart clutched a beer as he gave his Canadian equivalent (if such a thing exists) Jian Ghomeshi a hearty hello. And just for the record, we’d like to note that though he’s been frequently described as diminuative, even by himself, we’d peg Stewart at about five-eight, just under the U.S. average of five foot 10, according to the highly scientific Wikipedia.
