What it is: L.A.’s Dubois, Pelin and Associates has created celeb lounges all over the world, including at the Emmys and Cannes. The company has taken over the Presidential Suite at Front Street’s Intercontinental (where President Obama was rumoured to have stayed during the G20), a spectacular space with panoramic views and a wraparound terrace on the 18th floor.

Who goes: Such Canadian ingénues as Emily Hampshire and Katie Boland have stopped in. The guest list for this week includes Catherine Deneuve, Rachel McAdams, Mickey Rourke and Minnie Driver.

What they get: Jewellery is in ample supply, and with offerings from Micalla, FeenieBeadie, Anzie, Ruby Wow, Glass Harp Gallery and Susan Hood, starlets could leave with enough baubles to last a lifetime. Weary celebs will appreciate the 20-minute facials on offer from SwissTEC or the detox tea (green tea and lemon grass) from Kusmi Tea Essentials. And anyone looking to lose a day of their life will be happy with the DVD sets of AMC hits Mad Men and Breaking Bad. But the real draw will be, for a select lucky few, trips courtesy of Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts (of the seven-star-rated Burj Al Arab in Dubai) and Pearl Resorts and Spa in Tahiti.
