While no one is entirely sure why Adrian Grenier is back on the publicity train for his 2010 documentary Teenage Paparazzo (which most Canadians have already watched from the comfort of their own living rooms via TMN OnDemand), he certainly showed up for a second PR push on the first day of TIFF 2011. Rolling up to the red carpet outside of the Hoxton at King and Bathurst in a Mercedes-Benz G-Class, Grenier was cool and collected as he negotiated the line of media. In a wrinkly Bob Dylan T-shirt, gingham button-up, jeans and black Chucks, he wholly embodied Vinny Chase’s too-cool-for-school style. Find out what else Grenier said and what the red carpet looked like after the jump.

As the shutters clicked away, he spoke to us about the film and explained its purpose at the festival. “It’s done very well,” he said. “This is a continued experience that we’ve put together where we’re taking the film, an educational curriculum, guest speakers and an art exhibit and taking it around on this non-traditional, continued exhibition tour.” We guess that makes sense—just don’t go all James Franco on us, Adrian.

When we asked Grenier what he liked about Toronto, he was a little caught off guard. He smiled after a brief pause and told us that “the list is long.” When we asked what might be on that list, he clung to a celebrity default response. “The people. I’m from New York, so just about the entire world seems nicer in comparison.” We’ll accept that answer, even though we’ve been to New York and people are pretty friendly. What’s up next for HBO’s golden boy? A movie version of Entourage is in the works, and he also hopes for more—likely cerebral—documentaries.
