Olympic swimmer Penny Oleksiak’s Instagram is great

Penny Oleksiak, a 16-year-old Toronto native who’s going into Grade 11 at Monarch Park Collegiate, won gold in the women’s 100-metre freestyle last night in Rio. Combined with her other three swimming wins (a silver and two bronzes), this one gives her the record for most medals won by any Canadian athlete during a single Summer Olympics. Her success in the pool has made her an overnight national celebrity, but her Instagram account, even though it is currently gaining thousands of followers, is pretty normal—for now, at least. Let’s take a look.

Here she is in Rio, with a moose and teammates Chantal Van Landeghem, Sandrine Mainville and Michelle Williams:

Me and my girlss? #relaytmrw #soexcited

What could be more patriotic than a Canadian athlete eating Tim Hortons donuts on the Danforth?

Tall girl, tiny horse:

Change-room selfies don’t seem weird to anyone under the age of 20, apparently:

Jazzfest was okay, but I'm ready for Kanye???

The guy on the far left is Oleksiak’s brother, NHL defenceman Jamie Oleksiak:

We think we're a cute family?? #samisvcute

A reminder that she was 15 last year. (She would have been about 10 years old when Instagram first came into being.)

No longer my birthday.. #15 #stillababy

Another thing she’s a champion at: pulling off those shoes.
