If only Rob Ford, Mayor, could be as good as his job as Rob Ford, Football Coach

Coach Mayor Rob Ford loves the gridiron, where he can steamroll his opponents without pesky nuisances like voting and committee reports. The Globe and Mail covered the final game of the Don Bosco Eagles, the team Ford coaches, which it lost to the Richview Saints, and the piece paints a positive picture of Ford as half–football coach, half–life coach. There’s the player who runs, crying, into Ford’s arms; the coach bringing his team in for a prayer before the game; and players from ragtag backgrounds that go on to receive university scholarships. You have to give the mayor his due here: he put $25,000 of his own dollars into the team a decade ago and later started a foundation to keep the program running (it now supports 80 students, half of whom live in public housing).
