QUOTED: Olivia Chow on whether she’ll run for mayor
“I love the city of Toronto, it is my home. I am seriously considering running for mayor, but have not made a decision.”
—Olivia Chow on Thursday, updating reporters on the status of her mayoral ambitions. Her eventual entry into the fray is considered to be a foregone conclusion. (She’s releasing a memoir later this month, which is something politicians sometimes do prior to making big career moves.) Interestingly, “I am seriously considering running” seems to be becoming a little bit of a cliché. TTC Chair Karen Stintz used those exact words before announcing that she’d be running for mayor, and councillor Denzil Minnan-Wong, another potential mayoral candidate, has also been trotting them out. John Tory’s statements have been similarly noncommittal.
Forget it we have Rob Ford who never missed a Day and will remain Mayor as long as he wishes.
Are you that naive or are you trying to be? Ford has been shown to skip work to meet with his drug dealer and often left early to coach football before he got fired from his team. If you bothered to pay any attention, you would have realized that Ford rarely shows up to work before 11am and often is out the door by 4pm to avoid rush hour. The man is a serial hooky and you’ve fallen it. It doesn’t look good on you or anybody too naive to figure it out.
Rob Ford does not know what he is doing. Too high, I guess.
yoko ohno jumps into my brain when i see this leftie groupie
Chow gets in, the municipality will have rotating strikes, and municipal Rae Days. Minnan-Wong gets in, Toronto will ignore basic laws at his request (refer to his approach to street hockey) and other non-starter leadership methods. Pity the city.
