Rob Ford calls out Adam Vaughan: “Be a man” and join the mayoral race
Speaking with John Oakley today on AM640, mayoral race front-runner Rob Ford made a wish: for Adam Vaughan to join the mayor’s race. So says the Sun:
“I want Adam Vaughan. That’s the one I want,” Ford said. “He spends all his time criticizing me, so put your money where your mouth is. I want Adam Vaughan in the race.”…
Ford said he will “chew him (Vaughan) up and spit him out” in a one-on-one mayoral debate.
“I am sick and tired of him heckling me when I get up to speak at council,” he said.
Of course, there’s another reason Ford might want Vaughan in the running: a more divided left would make it easier for Ford to eke out a win.
And wait—did Ford just challenge Vaughan to a one-on-one mayoral debate? That’s not just a creation of the Sun‘s writer? If so, maybe Ford owes George Smitherman an apology. Can it be long before we see a Ford-sponsored chicken suit make an appearance around Vaughan?
The former CityTV reporter—and the man who called Ford Toronto’s version of Sarah Palin—responded to the Sun‘s inquiries with a promising “no comment,” so here’s hoping we get one last entry in the mayor’s race. Or will Vaughan string us along like a lefty John Tory?
If Ford gets elected as mayor it means everyone has truly drunk the kool aid. Seriously, even stupid people are in awe of his stupidity…
rob ford needs to leave toronto alone and join the wwf
Are we really gonne elect this dickhead called Ford to represent us on the world stage?! Oh Christ! Come on and grow up TO. We can do much better than Ford.. Maybe we should give Sarah a chance… Anything except FORD at this point…
How soon will we wake up and see Rob Ford for what he is – a one-trick pony (“I’ll slash waste….”) or more accurately a 14 carat buffoon who spends as little time at City Hall as he can.
The problem is the left is discrediting him as an oaf. The working class doesn’t care what his out of office actions are. The only thing that rings with them are his claims to tighten the budget and relieve pressure on working class families.
I’m trying to be as non-partisan here as I can: Ad hominem and smear campaign tactics don’t work against him. I don’t know why people don’t seem to be paying attention to this. Ford will win the mayoral race if he isn’t taken seriously and grappled with in a professional manner.
Don’t cry in your lattés you lefty whiners. Or on the pages of those pseudo-intellectual books that you pretend to read. You want to elect a guy that you feel you could sit down with over a glass of pinot and chat about global warming with. The rest of us want someone to fix this joint and give those of us who pay loads of taxes a break. Get a grip: This is LOCAL politics. It does not matter what he looks like or that he utters soundbites that send you all into hysterics: We need someone to control the NDP spending spree that you have all supported.
you cant prosper in debt, we can all talk of the wonderful things we would do if we won the lottery but going in debt to pay for things is paving the road to hell.
we finally have somebody willing to bring accountability to reckless spending, and still people say FORD SUPPORTERS ARE THE STUPID ONEs….maybe these people like taking it in the ass, like 2008 when everybody is loosing jobs and Smitherman gives himself a 35 000 raise….Ford is the only one who says, “how can we get a raise at times like this” and gave his back.
AND FORD SUPPORTERS ARE THE STUPID ONES.
Debt is paid through tax and inflation, it leads to pressure in the private sector reduced spending, less jobs, less investemnt, expansion, and spirals out of control.
AND FORD SUPPORTERS ARE THE STUPID ONES.
YOU THINK DEBT WILL MAKE YOU RICH?
YOU THINK DEBT WILL MAKE THIS CITY GREAT?
GOOGLE GREECE, SPAIN, IRLAND, CALIFORNIA,
YOU THINK YOU GOT A PROBLEM WITH HOME LESS NOW…..KEEP SPENDING
86 000 000 WE DONT HAVE ON A HOCKEY RINK WHICH WILL END UP COSTING 200 000 000.
SAVE THEN SPEND SAVE THEN SPEND SAVE THEN SPEND. . .
BUT WE ARE THE STUPID ONES.
Over the past ten years Toronto SPENDING INCREASED 261% over inflation with the largest cost being for wages, salaries and benefits.
Debt servicing costs for transit alone has doubled on the average by 20% annually; with other debt costs increasing on average at 14.6% annually, yet inflation for the past ten years averaged only 2.3% annually.
Yet journalists with NO experience in business continue to attack the positions of others offering up solutions for Toronto’s fiscal crisis caused by out of control Spending by incumbent councillors and the unsustainable left leaning ideologies of the outgoing mayor.
Our city’s problems will get worse unless we have new candidates that understand and acknowledge that to address our fiscal crisis we will have to decrease SPENDING by finding efficiencies, increasing user fees, cuts or elimination of certain programs.
Suggesting otherwise is an attempt to hoodwink the taxpayers of Toronto.

Here’s why Rob Ford will win:
#1. vote splitting on the left
#2. reactionary voters who want change for the sake of change / pendulum and momentum swinging from left wing city politics to right wing
#3. he’s not your typical politician, which people find attractive
GO FORD!
Adam Vaughan is another poor example for Toronto. He has set a bad precedent by allowing himself to bear the brunt of death threats in public uttered by none other than Mel Lastman. As usual, money gets away with it and there were no charges. Adam Vaughan is a wimp who cannot defend himself.
Oaf , that’s a good one.
I was calling Rob Ford a baffoon, but I like Oaf better.
Problem with this new Mayor is that he talks a good game but so far little happening other than making the TTC an essential service witch is going to cost alot more in the long run, if this is passed the TTC can`t strike but who needs to, they will get what they want through an abitrator and not lose a dime in lost wages on a strike, win win situation for the TTC employees, you may have noticed not a peep out of the TTC union huh.
Rob Ford is the best Mayor Toronto ever had, in a 100 days hes done more for the average guy than the last guy ever did.
I sure am happy I voted for him and donated to his campaign.
Time for a lot of people to get real jobs in the private sector as they will loose theirs in the public sector.
And for the word SERVICE and wanting to serve the public being the # 1 reason to be in public service not GREED.
GO FORD GO!!!!
