After days of ignoring the problem, Justin Bieber has agreed to take a paternity test to disprove his baby-daddy status. Mariah Yeater, a 20-year-old California woman, claims her child is the product of an alleged 30-second tryst in the backstage washroom of the Staples Center in Los Angeles. She’s suing for attention child support, and Yeater’s lawyers told Star that “credible evidence” would be revealed in court (we shudder to imagine what that might be).

The complainant, however, is more than a little suspect: she’s facing misdemeanor battery charges for allegedly slapping her ex-boyfriend, whom she also accused of fathering the baby. In the end, the whole issue seems a little silly, since there’s no way Justin could be the father—as we reported, the pop star’s balls dropped just two weeks ago. A negative test result would be good thing for Yeater, too—the age of consent in California is 18, so she’d face statutory rape charges if she’s proven right (then again, Bieber reportedly plans to countersue if she’s wrong, anyway, so it seems Yeater has found herself in a bad situation no matter what the outcome). Whatever befalls the girl, we simply can’t wait for the Maury Povich–style reveal.
