Pictures from last night’s Orlando vigil on Church Street
Yesterday’s mass killing in Orlando is being called the worst shooting in U.S. history. On a normal day (let’s not forget that shootings in the States have become depressingly normal), the Canadian response might be nothing more than some tut-tutting about America’s lax gun laws.
In this case, the immensity of the tragedy, combined with all that’s implied by shooter Omar Mateen’s decision to target a gay nightclub, has elicited a different response. Here, from Instagram and Twitter, are a few pictures from last night’s vigil for the Orlando shooting victims at Barbara Hall Park, on Church Street.
