We’ll forgive brothers Michael and Drew Thomas (not brothers; they have the same last name) for the headache-inducing atonal screeching they used for music at their show last night (seriously, guys, WTF?) because we liked their designs so much. The Toronto duo behind Thomas may have set out to challenge the audience with the soundtrack and androgynous styling, but they ultimately put together a strong collection of wearable clothing. Sure, we won’t see sheer men’s shirts on Bay Street any time soon, but these are exactly the kinds of pieces we see at The Beaver on a regular basis. Broken up into separates (a long draped sweater, a grey jacket with tails, a perfect shirt-dress), these pieces are well-cut, stylish basics for the creative class. We’ll be keeping an eye on these two.
