Address: 1159 Dundas St. E., Unit 149
Neighbourhood: Leslieville Agent: Matt Casselman, Re/Max Hallmark Realty Ltd., Brokerage Price: $699,900

The place: A two-bedroom hard loft overlooking a quiet Leslieville laneway.

The history: This low-slung brick building started life in 1910 as a cork factory and was soon converted to a Coca-Cola plant with its own underground parking garage (which this unit has a door directly to). The building was converted to condos about 15 years ago, but some of its original features remain in the unit, including concrete floors and double doors off the laneway—which should make moving in a breeze.

Big selling point: The current owners are a couple who own an art gallery, and they’ve left their mark with a fun mezzanine-level room reached by ladder, designer wallpaper, a feature wall built with reclaimed fireplace mantels and an absurdly tall set of drawers built out of lockers from a country club.

Possible deal breaker: Despite all of the aesthetic upgrades, the owners never got around to adding a second bathroom. They did, however, have the foresight to get the plumbing roughed into the master bedroom (and that’s half the battle).

By the numbers:

• $699,900 • 1,650 square feet • $450 in monthly maintenance fees • 18-foot ceilings • 2 bedrooms • 1 bathroom • 1 parking space
