McDonald’s Canada sparked a rapturous online love-fest on Tuesday when it announced that its poutine, previously only available in Quebec and parts of New Brunswick, was making a cross-country debut. Like the McLobster and the McRib, McPoutine is one of those odd regional specialties that seems run-of-the-mill to North Americans, but likely very bizarre to the rest of the world. As bizarre, perhaps, as we find India’s Chicken Maharaja Mac, or Singapore’s Durian Crunch McFlurry.
