Historically, Bay and Gerrard hasn’t been known as a particularly glamorous address, but things are looking up for the downtown neighbourhood. Last week, it became home to the third location of Jimmy’s Coffee, the much-loved indie coffee chain. The new café takes up three floors of a converted residential corner house, plus a sunny patio area out back. In keeping with the Kensington and King West locations, the shop offers a range of espresso-based beverages, plus pastries from local suppliers like OMG Baked Goodness on Dundas West. The new space also shares the chain’s signature decorative details: Persian rugs, pretty chandeliers and bookcases filled with vintage cameras, bronze busts and other random curios.
