TIFF Red Carpet: Glen Close and Kevin Kline get nostalgic at the The Big Chill’s anniversary screening

Last night’s anniversary screening of The Big Chill felt a lot like the film: a group of old pals reuniting after life and careers pulled them apart. Thirty years after the ‘80s coming-of-age hit premiered at TIFF, Kevin Kline, Glenn Close, Meg Tilly, JoBeth Williams, Mary Kay Place and Tom Berenger (who still swears he could make the leap into that little Porsche) got together on the red carpet to hug, reminisce and enthuse about the film’s iconic soundrack. Close told us that her fondest memory on set was dancing with her co-stars, while the mere mention of Marvin Gaye had Williams  bouncing at the knees. Director Lawrence Kasdan let us in on the secret behind the soundtrack—and the film’s—widespread success: “It’s when rock ‘n’ roll was going on. When everything was going on.”
