Now that Hollywood has discovered women can be funny too (see: the success of Bridesmaids), it’s great to see Kristen Wiig walking the red carpet for a comedy again. The former SNL star wore a purple and black lace dress for the Ryerson Theatre premiere of Imogene, a dark-but-funny film by American Splendor directors Robert Pulcini and Shari Springer Berman. Another small-screen star making forays into the film world: Darren Criss (a.k.a. Blaine Anderson from Glee), whose movie debut was heralded by the legions of Gleeks who thronged the carpet (the young actor looked particularly sharp in a fitted grey suit and black tie). Other notables include supporting players Mickey Sumner and Christopher Fitzgerald, who eked out the last days of summer in a pair of bright red pants.
