Spinout Cycle, a brand-new gym in Liberty Village, promises fitness junkies a sweatier, more intense workout than run-of-the-mill spin classes. The space looks like a typical spin gym, with a cheery reception area and a room full of sleek white Schwinn bikes. What sets it apart is the hyper-competitive concept. Each bike is wirelessly connected to a pair of flat-screen TVs (called the Spinout Boards), which take bikers’ data and rank class members according to how many calories they’ve burned. Spinout is the only studio in the city that uses this kind of technology, which founder Hanya Kizemchuk, a former model and real estate tycoon, describes as “the future of indoor cycling.”

The studio offers a mix of classes, including the core-busting Six Pack Circuit and the adventurous Off Beat Roads. As with any gym, the quality of the workout depends on the skill of the instructors. Spinout’s Director of Operations is a certified Schwinn Master Trainer with 10 years’ experience, including a stint on the TV series Fitness Zone.
