Hanlan’s Point, the part of the Toronto Island where you can find the city’s only clothing-optional beach, is accessed by an open-air barge instead of Centre Island’s enormous ferry. On a recent Sunday, we caught up with a handful of day-trippers as they disembarked at the pier. There were an eclectic mix of people: cycling families, groups of rowdy guys heading to the nude beach, a bongo-clad camper and even some local celebrities—we spotted MuchMusic host Sarah Taylor and fashion designer Sunny Fong of Vawk. Style-wise, jean shorts, colourful headgear and big sunglasses made for carefree, beach-appropriate outfits. Here, 15 of our favourite Island shots.
