Perfecto Mag launches video about Queen Street West street style
Perfecto magazine’s Diego Armand, May Truong and Kristjan Hayden have taken street style from photos to video in issue five of the online fashion magazine. The local trio toured the streets—mostly Queen Street West—of Toronto with videographer JT Ivanov, and captured some rather faux-candid moments: a girl seductively dropping her shades to reveal darting eyes; a girl taking long strides in draped white clothing; and a girl who’s surprised by the fact that there’s a video camera (yes, she waves hello). Although this video is a reminder that staged street style is rampant these days (and a little hokey), we think Perfecto mag is at least doing something visually compelling with a tired model. Perhaps maybe fewer kaleidoscope effects at the beginning and end next time, since we got a bit dizzy.
Why are the models the only people on the street? I assume they filmed this early in the morning? Doesn’t really show off how vibrant Queen is.

why are we such “haters” of when one of our own, does something good, and free for the fashion/art community of toronto. These are young, creative individuals doing their thing. and yes, it was staged…we all know that Kevin, but thanks for pointing it out.
It’s refreshing to see models who look like real people. I loved the energy portrayed both in the fashion look and the kaleidoscope effects. Colors and fashion are wonderful! I’d like to see more of this type of fashion. Thanks Perfecto Mag for giving us this opportunity to see and hear beauty.

Andrea, pointing out the obvious doesn’t make us haters. It makes us observant. This isn’t an interesting video. I scrolled through most of it. They gave it a good try at least but I agree with Doris, it is so great to see models who don’t look like broomsticks
Hope this was made by the suburban tween son or daughter of a TL staffer who just discovered H & M and IMovie. And then posted out of sympathy. Otherwise yikes, Toronto Life. Scraping the barrel.
I know a few of the girls in this video and recognize plenty more of them from the neighbourhood. The shots are obviously staged, but these are real people and they dress like this for realsies… which is why I’m usually too intimidated to leave my apartment.
