Andy Thê-Anh’s runway show was trotted out before a standing-room-only crowd at the Allstream Centre last night. The show was typical Thê-Anh and a departure from last season, when he chose instead to show a presentation (wherein models stand around in clothes and buyers and media can get a closer look). He played to his audience of wealthy Yorkville women (he recently opened a new store in the area) by creating designs best worn to lunch at Holts and dinner at One. Runway looks played with military influences, like army jackets, tuxedo shirts and camo-like prints, contrasted by feminine touches. We could have done with a few less frills (ruffles, pleats, layering and folding all played a huge part), but we’re sure the ladies of Rosedale will flock.
