And the Toronto neighbourhood soon to welcome a multi-storey sex pavilion is…
…Unclear, at least at the moment. What is clear is that Wicked, the 10-year-old “hedonistic” club in Little Portugal, is dismantling its exhibitionist cage and moving to a new location. The club closed its doors earlier this year when its West Queen West lease expired, and the owners are on the hunt for a new venue. According to a contact at the club, a few different properties are being scouted, and a final decision will likely be made by mid-February.
Wicked was Toronto’s first “on premise” sex venue when it opened in 2004, meaning that patrons were free to copulate on-site, as opposed to having to close the deal at a second location. In the last decade, the swingers biz has expanded to include newer, flashier sex pavilions like Oasis Aqualounge, which pegs itself as an upscale, spa-like destination, and Club M4, which hosts popular theme nights (e.g. MILF Mondays).
The city’s original swingers’ club is keeping mum about what features customers can expect at the new location. The club’s website does say that its new incarnation will be “something new and exciting,” which is great news for the city’s swingers—and potentially less-great news for the laced-up Torontonians who end up sharing their neighbourhood with a new and exciting sex den.
I lived down the street from Wicked for three years. In an area full of bars and clubs, it was actually one of the least problematic ones, IMO.
I hope it never re-opens we went last year for their New Year Eve party, it was hot GARBAGE! Jealous husbands every where, I should have read the reviews, too much drama for old MILF’s with fat jealous husband!
Just found it corrupt and expensive.
As well as dangerous as I fell backwards down a poorly lit emergency exit that had not markings. Not even an apology from the club and a paid off by law officer after I filed a complaint.
Montreal had the right idea not allowing this nasty couple to make money in their city.
Gives new meaning to “Take it ease!”
I’ve hosted events and attended many local off- and on-premise clubs for about 12yrs.
Club M4 is the real deal: its friendly spectrum of swingers of all ages, backgrounds, and experience bring a real sense of community back to the lifestyle. I love that it’s queer positive & accepts everyone ‘come-as-you-are’ and even brings some of the BDSM scene to the table as well. It may not have hot tubs and saunas, but it has one thing that the other clubs don’t offer: genuine people who are in the lifestyle, a true swingers club, not a ‘sex club’. And at $10-$20/couple, their 150-200+ weekend crowds, and friendly staff means that M4 must be doing something right. Hopefully this ‘temporary’ closure will allow people to try out M4 and see what an inviting friendly environment it is!!
Absolutely, I agree with Sapphy. M4 is such a welcoming environment with so much diversity. With everyone having their own adult themed preferences, relationship/friendship goals and unique life experiences… the one thing everyone agrees on is this – it’s about having fun and respecting others, however they decide to express their individual sexuality. (and I like the library ; ))
I have to disagree Jay, I hope it reopens…and damn soon. I don’t want the jealous hubby’s and drama ridden old MILF’s as you say to find out how much better it is at M4….and start ruining the fun there. As a side note, being a single guy I’m treated as an equal at M4 which is very different to how I was treated the one and only time I was at “wicked”. That experience left no reason in my mind to ever return.
Wicked club is now open on the East side at 358 Queen Street East.
Sure I remember Marianne Jacobsen, she tried to blackmail us into a huge payout for a scratch on the finger. I referred her to the insurance company and she never pursued. We didn’t pay anything to a any officer. Paramedics said she was fine. There are always 2 sides to a story. (:
Hi Jay, sorry you had a bad experience. Remember Wicked is a place where women run the show. Single Gents are welcome however, please keep in mind that attending Wicked Club as a single gent is a privilege. Gents are there to please the ladies and must treat them with respect ALWAYS and follow their lead. (:
Wicked Club has now re-opened at 358 Queen Street East. wickedclub.com thanks
